About the Owners

Rachel Beck is originally from Virginia Beach, VA.  She started dancing at the age of 4 years old at Jean Wallace Studios and was a dedicated dancer there through high school.   Ms. Lisa Wallace, Rachel's childhood dance teacher is responsible for molding Rachel into the dancer and teacher she is today.  Lisa always instilled the value of working hard, teamwork and appreciating the art of dance before anything.  Some of Rachel's best memories growing up were at the dance studio.  Rachel's goal is to create the same environment at Carolina Dance Alliance.

After graduation, she had dreams of pursuing a professional dance career.  She lived in New York City as a young adult and studied at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway.  She has been fortunate enough to study under amazing talents, such as Andy Blankenbuehler, Jerry Rose, Barry Youngblood and the late Mallory Graham and Thommie Walsh.  She danced professionally all over the world before going back to college In 2002.  She studied dance during her college years and received a degree in Psychology and Special Education from Old Dominion University.

She has been married to her wonderful husband and business partner for 10 years and they have three children, Jason, 23, Anthony, 19 and Graysen, 15.  George is a retired Naval Chief Warrant Officer of 26 years.  They were fortunate enough to travel the world as a family during his career and that is what ultimately brought them to New Bern.  They fell in love with the area and decided to return when he retired.  Rachel was thrilled when given the opportunity to take over Carolina Dance Alliance in 2022.  She is excited to share her cultured knowledge and experience of dance, but most of all her passion for the arts with young artists in the area.
